Can freedom exist in the same way for everyone?

Free Will brought together thirteen ceramic artists from different cultural backgrounds in an international online exhibition. Rather than defining freedom as a fixed idea, the project invited artists to approach it through their own experiences, materials, and visual languages. Each work became a different response to the same question, allowing multiple perspectives to exist without seeking a single conclusion.

Curatorial Framework

Free Will emerged during the global lockdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, when physical exhibitions had become almost impossible. Rather than postponing artistic exchange, the project embraced the online space as its exhibition platform.

The exhibition was conceived as an opportunity to continue dialogue through ceramics despite physical isolation. By bringing together thirteen artists from different places, it proposed that distance does not necessarily interrupt artistic communication. Instead, new forms of connection can emerge when artists continue to create, respond, and share their work under changing conditions.
